T. Percival Aquinas
A few instances of T.P.'s fondness for food from Welcome to America, Mr. Brand, Stemwinder, Part 1, The Man Who Died Twice and Promises To Keep
At some point in 1973 when Lee began with the Agency, T.P. was an instructor at the Agency with a specialty in Organizational Conspiracy. While still in training, Lee was one of his students. (Reach For the Sky.) It is unknown when he left the Agency to begin working for the Library of Congress which is his occupation as of the end of the series. Since then, he has been a source of vital information and a constant friend to Lee.
In approximately 1982, lost his wife, Eloise and their six-year-old son(unnamed) to murder by Donald Jordan who later became the leader of a large drug pyramid.
The senseless murder of his wife and child led T.P. on a crusade to avenge their deaths and he took it upon himself to "go undercover" within Jordan's organization and became known withing the group as "Percy the Professor" where he provided Jordan's head of East Coast Operations, Raymond Peralta with tidbits of information, while at the same time providing anonymous tips to the DEA leading to several raids on Peralta.
T.P.'s double-dealings are unknown to Lee until they are brought to his attention by Dr. Smyth, who learns of T.P.'s dual identity as Percy the Professor through the head of the DEA, Geraldine Hubbell, and orders Lee to bring T.P. in. The matter is brought to a close when T.P. kills Jordan, however, it is ruled a justifiable homicide at which point T.P. takes a much-needed vacation. (Promises to Keep)
T.P. is described by Amanda as a "sweet man with a sweet tooth" and as a bookworm by Lee, both of which are accurate descriptions as he has a seemingly equal love for good food and good books.
T.P is first introduced in "Welcome to America, Mr. Brand; First introduced to Amanda in "Reach for the Sky." He made a total of 11 appearances on the show:
